International cooperation to shape common policies for cybersecurity and data protection

 The United States and the European Union have agreed to treatcybersecurity , cyber crime and data protection as international issues, cooperatively developing polices based on shared values.

 

Brussels criticises UK on privacy

The UK government has been accused of failing to protect citizens' privacy by the European Commission.

Data-losing companies may be forced to spill to public

The European Commission will consider passing new laws forcing organisations that lose personal data to go public with that loss. The Commission has until now been opposed to the creation of wide-ranging data breach notification requirements.
