Loss, destruction of theft of a network device (including the stored data).

Review the procedures for Compromise of Confidential or Sensitive Data.
Collect information about the incident (for reporting purposes).
Notify the appropriate University authorities, as directed by the department of Risk Management and Insurance.
Activate equipment tracking, if available. For example, CyberAngel (product available at a discount from the University Software Portal).
Check the L1 / L2 / L3 Mapping Tool for any connections on RUNet following the date of the equipment loss. The results could indicate that the device is currently being used by unauthorized parties at Rutgers.
