Instructions for Displaying Email Headers

If you have an email problem or an incident you would like to report you will have to provide full email header information when you contact IPS. The instructions below will assist you in displaying full headers in your email software.

Eudora

  1. Display the message.
  2. In the upper left corner of the message window, click on the Blah Blah Blah icon.
  3. With full headers displayed, forward the message to the appropriate group(s).

Outlook 2003/XP

  1. Double click on the message to open it in its own window (do not click on any links, or respond to the email). 
  2. Right-click the message and select Options.
  3. Copy and paste everything from Internet headers field into the message you are forwarding to report the incident

Mail.app (Mac OS X 10.2 and later)

  1. Display the message.
  2. Under the View menu, select Message, then Long Header.
  3. With the full headers displayed, forward the message to the appropriate group(s)

Pine

  1. Display the message.
  2. Press H.
  3. With full headers displayed, forward the message to the appropriate group(s).

Outlook Express

  1. Click the email message
  2. Click the "File" menu
  3. Click "Properties"
  4. Click the "Details" tab
  5. Click "Message Source"
  6. Copy and paste everything from this window into the message you are forwarding to the appropriate group(s).
